Debbie Farmer graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a degree
in creative writing
and literature, which made her well educated, but immediately unemployable.
She began writing her family humor column "Family
Daze" in 1996 after the
birth of her material (Heather and Ben) with nothing but a few pencils
and a
Brother word processor. Now it's syndicated by Oasis Newsfeatures
Syndicate to over 40 newspapers ( and over 400,000 readers) a week. Her
publishing credits include Reader's Digest, The Washington Post, The
Christian Science Monitor, Family Fun Magazine, Chicken Soup for the
Mother's Soul II, Chicken Soup for the Gardener's Soul, Chocolate for
a
Woman's Courage and over 200 regional parenting magazines in the U.S.,
Australia, and Canada. Her book "Don't put Lipstick on the Cat"
is available in bookstores, www.bn.com
and www.amazon.com.
Debbie lives with her husband, two children and way too
many cats. Feel free
to contact her with comments, questions, or ideas for future columns.
Debbie is also available to speak to groups about the business side of
publishing. Debbie.Farmer@yahoo.com
